Cavalier becomes a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF)
As part of Cavaliers ongoing commitment to security and support of the TSA initiatives to improve passenger safety, Cavalier has become one of the first companies in the USA to be approved as a CCSF.
What does this mean for our customers?
Cavalier is in a position to book and tender cargo to the airline with a status of “Screened”, thus removing the need for the airline to screen the cargo.
When asked why Cavalier was so proactive in its approach to the Congress mandated screening, Cavalier’s Compliance Officer, Michele Siano stated “Cavalier has always had a very collaborative relationship with the TSA. However the driving force behind us making this significant investment was to ensure that we did everything possible to ensure that the integrity of our customers product was protected to the utmost. The airlines will do a great job but they have to take a more impersonal approach to screening simply because of the volumes. That is not a scenario that Cavalier is comfortable with because it is our “customer first” approach which has been the backbone of Cavalier’s success. If there is an opportunity to take extra measures to protect our customers cargo, you can believe that Cavalier will take it every time”
While the entire Cavalier management team was involved in the approval process the majority of the planning, training and liaising with the TSA was conducted by Michele Siano and Mike Hickey. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on a job well done and extend our thanks for the many grueling weeks that it took to achieve our certification.
